A Mental Health Trust identified an urgent need to deliver training to its staff on the prevention, identification, diagnosis and treatment of clozapine-induced gastrointestinal hypomotility (GIGH) following the death of a clozapine patient. Learn It Online worked closely with the Trust’s Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to deliver a course that not only maintained the original module’s accurate and evidence-based content, but also enveloped the relevant aspects of the Trust’s clozapine policy. This course is being adapted and adopted by other treatment providers throughout the United Kingdom to improve patient safety.

In 2021, the Irish Institute of Pharmacists (IIOP) sought to procure 2 courses, for their community pharmacists. Both courses were accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and hosted on their Moodle® (LMS) platform. Learn It Online won the contract, which has recently been extended until 2026.

Point of Care Testing (POCT) for clozapine patients has been available for many years and is a service that is growing in popularity throughout most of the United Kingdom. Learn It Online has collaborated with UK NEQAS to deliver a short CPD-certified online course to support staff working in point of care clozapine clinics.

NAVIGO offers a range of mental health services across Northeast Lincolnshire. Learn It Online is collaborating with NAVIGO and a group of clozapine service users to produce clozapine lived experience vignettes to demystify clozapine and help service users and their families make informed choices regarding their treatment. Target date quarter 1 2025.

Oxford Health is one of the few English Trusts offering clozapine shared-care to its patients. The Trust wanted to extend access to Learn It Online’s clozapine course to the community pharmacists and GP practices who were delivering the shared-care service provision. Learn It Online created a dedicated ‘Oxford Health Community Clozapine Hub’ in order to host the course for the shared-care staff. This hub became the fore runner of Learn It LMS.

RADiANT is a clinical and research network, hosted by Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and focusing on mental health and behavioural issues associated with a range of neuro-developmental conditions. RADiANT is collaborating with Learn It Online to design and host 12 CPD-certified modules covering aspects of physical health in people living with learning disabilities. Northern Ireland Centre for Pharmacy Learning and Development, Belfast wished to acquire Learn It Online’s course, ‘Clozapine- A Comprehensive Clinical Programme’ for all pharmacists. However, they required that the modules would be hosted on their website, as opposed to importing and uploading the SCORM files to their learning management system. They also wanted to set up their own assessment, using their own templates, scoring and reporting system. Learn It Online was able to recreate the course in the required format and provide further assistance in the form of a bank of multiple-choice questions to help them to build their own assessment process.
